Byelorussian Translations of the Book of Daniel

The Old Testament Book of the prophet Daniel is of special interest for translation studies – as it is known, the author Daniel began his discourse in Hebrew, switched to Aramaic, and concluded in Hebrew. The report proposes reviewing the peculiarities of this book presentation in four Biblical translations: Ruthenian Bible (Bibliiaruska) (1517–20) by Fransic Skoryna, The Brest Bible (Biblia Brzeska) (1563), the Nesvizh Bible (Biblia Nieświeska) (1568–72) by Symon Budny and Vilnius Old Testament Florilegium (F 19–262) (approx. 1517–1533)). All of these translations were connected with Belarus and their authors belonged to four different confessions.
