The aim of this paper is to determine Church Slavonic isonorm by indicating the similarities and differences in the ways of formalizing semantic subordination in the Serbian and Russian Church Slavonic texts written in lower functional style. The problem will be approached from the stylistic perspective, as well as from the aspects of language evolution. This approach is based on the fact that the Church Slavonic language of low functional style, although basically inherited Old Church Slavic syntactic system, did have its own internal and external dynamics of development.

The main corpus for the research consists of data collected from the narrative texts from the 15th and 16th century which belong to the common Slavic literature of profane character.
